Original Medicare vs. Medicare Advantage
Medicare is divided up into different parts, each of which corresponds to an area of coverage. Parts A and B are the base level of coverage and make up Original Medicare. This includes both hospital and health insurance coverage. Most people qualify to be automatically enrolled in Original Medicare and receive Part A premium-free.
Medicare Advantage, or Part C, allows the beneficiary to choose the areas of coverage they would like included in their policy. This is excellent for those who want to expand their coverage to include things such as vision, dental, and hearing. If Original Medicare doesn’t provide as much coverage as you’d like, consider Medicare Advantage.
Why choose Medicare?
Medicare is a service administered through Social Security. It provides exceptional insurance coverage and can reduce medical bills. Those who have another form of health insurance can still enroll in Medicare, meaning that coverage can be maximized and benefits are used comprehensively.
